Five-roll refining is the final particle size reduction step to achieve the desired end fineness of chocolate as well as compound masses. In addition to size reduction during the five-roll refining, also an important flavoring process of the chocolate takes place. Up to now roll refining is an integral part of the economic chocolate production process, especially for medium to high production capacities.
Thanks to the special hydraulic system to control the roll pressure of the five-roll refiner HFS, it is possible define the pressure of each individual roll gap. This allows the HDM refiners to handle a wide range of products like chocolate, filling or compound masses with different fineness and plasticity from very dry to very soft products. This, combined with the high-precise and reliable mechanical intake gab adjustment device of the five-roll refiner and the patented 100% online fineness monitoring allows a fully-automated, accurate control of the refining result across the entire working width of the rolls.
Thanks to the fixed gear ratio, which defines the shearing of the product in the roll gap, the chocolate refiner HFS achieves an unmatched consistent refining quality. The automatic roller cooling device and the precisely tailored scraping device of the top roll ensures an optimal product film transfer.
The chocolate five-roll refiner HFS is equipped with state-of-the-art security and the design complies with current hygienic design standards. Based on the customer’s requirements, the refiner HFS is available in different degrees of automation. It is possible to operate the machine ether manual, semi-automatic or full-automatic based on defined values stored in the recipe management.
“NEW HDM HIGHLIGHT” With the patented high-performance five-roll refiner HFS 180S a machine is now available that combines the constructive and economic benefits of a 1800 mm rolling mill with the performance of a 2500 mm five-roll refiner.
This is possible by increasing the diameter of the top rolls and provides a significantly higher capacity with improved roll cooling and higher mechanical stability of the rolls. The HFS 180S has the same energy and space requirements like a standard 1800 mm five-roll refiner but offers a significantly increased throughput.
